BackerKit Survey LIVE NOW! Shelf of Many Things UNLOCKED!
about 7 years ago – Fri, Mar 17, 2017 at 03:53:34 PM

Hello everyone!

A lot has happened since the end of the campaign. We're hard at work getting things in place to ramp up production on the Game Master Screen, PAX East has come and gone, we've been hard at work getting BackerKit ready, and we put the finishing touches on another component! Oh, and because New England, some snow and freezing rain happened, which kind of put a damper on things (no pun intended... I think). But let's get back to that new component, shall we?

The Shelf of Many Things

Credit goes to Andrew Wolf Sammarco for the name!
Credit goes to Andrew Wolf Sammarco for the name!

The Shelf of Many Things is our alternative storage solution. In lieu of removable Mini Dice Trays as drawers, it contains fixed shelves, and a more shallow profile than the Chest of Holding, for ease of reaching all the way to the back of the shelves. The external dimensions of the Shelf of Many Things match those of the Two Way Dice Tower.

The magnetic front panel secures items on the shelves between sessions. It's also completely removable, so it won't get in your way during the game.

In addition, the magnets are aligned so that the Shelf cover can function as an extension of your screen if desired.

The Shelf of Many Things is priced at $150 in Red Oak. Complete pricing information can be found in BackerKit. Now, let's talk about the survey!

BackerKit

The time has finally come; BackerKit is up and running, and you should be receiving an email invitation to fill it out, if you have not already gotten it. If you don't receive an invite, be sure to check your spam folder. If nothing turns up within the next day or so, get in touch with us and we'll sort it out for you.

When you open the email and click the included link, you'll be directed to BackerKit. You should see the project description, as well as your pledge total, and your reward tier. Note that your reward level will be displayed as "$0 Reward" - this is NOT an error, so don't be alarmed! Since you aren't locked in to using your pledge funds on any specific item, we made the pledge cost $0 so all of your pledge will be available as add-on credit. More on that momentarily.

After confirming your details, you'll be taken to the survey. There are a few questions for you to answer, which will be very helpful to us. After that, you'll reach the most important section, the "add-on" portion.

It's here that you'll select all of the items and components of your pledge. Complete pricing information is in BackerKit, including shipping costs, so you'll simply add items to your order as desired and they'll automatically be deducted from your credit. Should you opt to order more than you initially pledged for, that's okay! You will be given an option to add a payment method within BackerKit to cover the difference.

Once you've selected everything, you'll confirm your shipping and payment details (if needed) and you'll be done! Nice and easy!

BackerKit will be open for several weeks, and you can log back in and make changes at any point up until we lock surveys. You'll be notified via update well in advance of that, so you can change your mind if you decide to do so before lockdown.

Unlocked Woods

The unlocked woods from the campaign are all fully priced and present in BackerKit. Here's a gallery of our renderings of the Panels in each of the Core 16 woods. Naturally, no two pieces of wood, even from within the same species, will be exactly the same. Nonetheless, these images should give you a soild idea of what you can expect.

THANK YOU! Post Campaign Information & Pre-Orders
about 7 years ago – Fri, Feb 24, 2017 at 02:17:55 PM

Thank you everyone!

Your amazing enthusiasm made this our biggest campaign ever, and puts the Wyrmwood Magnetic Game Master Screen in the running for most successful gaming accessory ever offered on Kickstarter. We're blown away by your support, and it means a lot to each and every one of us.

It's worth noting that by pledging, you're not just purchasing a product, you're directly supporting the real men and women who will be creating your piece, and we hope you can take pride in that, both now and especially later, when you have their work in your hands.

Speaking of, let's talk about what to expect now that the campaign is over!

BackerKit & Pre-orders

We're putting the finishing touches on BackerKit, our pledge manager. As some of you have noticed, we're accepting pre-orders there now. If you're a backer, do not pre-order! That link is for people who missed the campaign, but still want to back. If you've got any friends that either didn't hear about it in time, couldn't decide whether to back or not, or missed out for some other reason and are kicking themselves now - you can direct them to the campaign page where they can still pledge - the "pledge" button has now been replaced by a "pre-order now" button. They'll be added to the final delivery tier of the campaign (October) and it will be just as if they had backed on Kickstarter, with access to all the same options.

But if you're reading this, you've most likely backed us already, and there's nothing for you to do quite yet. Here's how it will work:

1) Kickstarter is collecting pledges as we speak. This process can take a while.

2) If your pledge doesn't go through, it will be marked "errored."

This means that Kickstarter could not collect your pledge for some reason. If this applies to you, Kickstarter will notify you of the error, and you'll need to update your payment information (or check with your card issuer/bank to find out why the error occurred). After 7 days of periodic reminders, Kickstarter will attempt to collect your pledge again. If it fails again, you will be dropped as a backer.

If this happens, all is not lost - you'll be able to pay your pledge through BackerKit - but it's far easier to handle now. So please pay attention to emails from Kickstarter - they will notify you that your pledge was collected, or if there was an issue.

3) Once the pledges are collected, Kickstarter will transfer them to us. This takes about two weeks.

4) The pledge manager will be launched, at which time you'll fill out your survey and select your items.

You'll get an email inviting you to BackerKit (and an update will go out saying the pledge manager is ready). When you get there, you'll confirm some basic details, and find your selected reward tier is listed at "$0" - don't be alarmed! Your pledge has been converted to credit on BackerKit, and you'll select your items via the "add ons" section of the survey. This is the only way to let us know exactly what you pledged for.

At this time, you'll also be able to add to your pledge if desired. Anything you select above your pledge will be charged separately through BackerKit.

5) We'll lock down surveys about 1-2 months after opening them up. This will be the "last call" to edit or add anything to your pledge. After locking pledges, we'll charge those that added funds in BackerKit.

After this, the pledges will be locked from further editing (except address changes) and we'll move heavily into production, after which...

6) Fulfillment will begin!

That about covers it! Reach out to us with any questions, but for now, most of you can sit back and relax - you've earned it! We'll keep you posted with updates about the process and the surveys soon.

One More Thing

Again, sincerely, from all of us, for everything you've done:

Thank you.

FINAL DAY! GM Screen Hands On with MATT MERCER
about 7 years ago – Wed, Feb 22, 2017 at 09:43:35 PM

Hello everyone!

We're closing in fast on the final hours and minutes of this campaign, and we just had a couple quick things to share with you.

Wood Lineup

First, if you haven't seen it, ALL of our Core 16 woods are unlocked and available! We wanted to extend the opportunity for anyone to get matching woods to their existing Wyrmwood products, and now you can do that in the campaign!

We know some of you are familiar with are extended wood selection, what we use in our Custom Workshop. This includes virtually all the woods we've ever used, and is quite extensive. If you're very interested in any of these special woods, you can reach out to us and let us know and we will see what we can do to source the material and make your Screen even more one-of-a-kind! Note that additional lead time and sourcing fees may apply to these orders.

Matt Mercer Screen Walkthrough

For most of you, Matt Mercer needs no introduction. But for the rest of you: Professional voice actor, Dungeon Master extraordinaire for Geek & Sundry's Critical Role (and the excellent GM Tips series), and all-around awesome guy, is perhaps the best fit we can imagine to demo our GM Screen. And, wouldn't you know it? Here he is, doing exactly that!

BackerKit

As we've been saying, a pledge manager will be forthcoming after the campaign wraps up. We'll send out survey invitations, and you'll be prompted to go to the site to confirm the details of your order.

Most of you have done this before, but if you haven't, it's a simple process - even for a complex project like ours!

You'll get an email, and you'll click the link. When you arrive, your pledge details should be listed. Now, you may at first be alarmed, because for most of you, the pledge will read as "$0" - don't worry! This isn't a mistake!

What we've done is to take your pledge, and convert it to credit on BackerKit. You'll fill out the brief survey, and then move on to the "add-ons" section - which is where you'll choose all your items. Once you get there, you'll find your pledge amount, in credit, waiting for you. :)

After you make your selections, you'll confirm your address details, enter payment information if you need to (if your add-ons total more than your pledge), and then you'll be done! Simple as that.

Of course, if you run into any issues, or have any special details that the survey doesn't cover, you can message us and we'll take care of fine adjustments to your pledge. But for most of you, it'll be a very straightforward process.

BackerKit Pre-orders

In the days ahead, the Kickstarter pledge button will redirect to BackerKit, where people will be able to preorder the Screen while BackerKit remains open. So if anyone you know missed the campaign, you can let them know there's still hope. Of course, they still have until tomorrow morning to pledge here!

Thank you all for your support, and we can't wait to start crafting your ultimate Game Master Screen!

Hello Everyone!

We're finally here - the last 48 hours of the campaign. If you've just gotten here, welcome, and if you've been following us all along, welcome back!

This is a very complex project with lots of different items involved, so we limited our wood selection for the campaign like never before. You've been knocking down stretch goals to open up more woods, but some of you were still waiting for your favorites.

Well, wait no further - we've pulled out all the stops and made ALL components available in ALL of our Core 16 woods! That means you can choose from the following:

  • Peruvian Walnut
  • Black Poisonwood
  • Zebrawood
  • Wenge
  • Bolivian Rosewood
  • Spalted Tamarind

FINAL 72 HOURS! Sneak Peak at Future Components & Post-Campaign Plans
about 7 years ago – Mon, Feb 20, 2017 at 08:43:25 PM

As we enter the home stretch of the campaign, we wanted to take a moment to thank you for making the project such a success. Thanks to you, the GM Screen has a very bright future, and we made a brief video to show you some of what that future may have in store:

We hope you enjoyed the preview of what we have in development. Let us know what you think of these!

BackerKit

We'll once again be using BackerKit to handle all of the data and surveys once the campaign ends. If you've backed us before, you're already aware of how things will work, but if you haven't, here's some information to let you know what to expect.

After the campaign ends, Kickstarter will begin the process of collecting pledges, and we'll put the finishing touches on the survey and pledge manager system. Once everything is ready, we'll open up BackerKit. At that time, we'll notify you via update, and you will get an email inviting you to fill it out.

Once you get there, you'll confirm your pledge tier and details, be asked a few brief questions, and then you'll finally be able to select the items you pledged for to finalize your order. You can also add to your pledge if you need to, if you decide to add on that case or upgrade the wood at the last minute.

After that, all you'll really need to do is sit back and wait while we do the rest. :)

Thank you all again for all your hard work pledging, sharing and spreading the word. Let's keep going and make these last 72 hours the best yet!
